A Day at the Beach

Easter weekend was such perfect beach weather! Sara and I spent a week in Newport for the holiday. After Saturday's Easter Egg Hunt, we headed to the beach with Sara's cousins. Sara did NOT like the sand at first.....once I convinced her the beach was a fun place, she couldn't get enough of the sand and ocean. She crawled around tossing shells and rocks that got in her path. She even tossed a few sand crabs. She didn't like how they tickled her fingers. After hours of happy playtime, she literally crashed in my arms and fell asleep. I can't wait to go back again!

St. Patrick's Day

Part of the fun of having a little girl is getting to dress her up for every holiday. Until she is old enough to make her own clothing decisions, I get to torture her with silly headbands and necklaces. Sara actually really wanted to wear this holiday decor. As soon as she saw them at the store, she bent her head down for me to put the headband on her head. I figured she needed more accessories, so I added the necklaces. I'm just glad she is willing (at least for now) to let me dress her up. The accessories seem to make her happy!

What a Girl!

Sara loves these pink boots from her Auntie Jennifer. She is very fascinated with the rhinestones.
When she crawls around, she looks back to make sure she still has the boots with her (they're a little big still.)

Bunny Ears

Sara loves these bunny ears! When I brought them home she instantly wanted them and loved having them on. She put on a little show for us while playing with her Leap Frog toy. A few days later she was pointing at the ears in my room. When I picked them up she bent her head down so I would put them on her again. The ears are meant for adults and are quite heavy on my head, but it didn't even phase Sara. She crawled all around the house as happy as could be with the ears on. Someone is definitely ready for the Easter Bunny!

Babies Grow So Fast!

I have tried to take pictures of Sara each month with the same bear to show how much she has grown. The first picture is Sara at two weeks old and the second one is at 9 months. It is so amazing to me that she used to be so tiny that some of her preemie size outfits were too big. Now she is a bundle of fun--dancing and laughing all the time. We are really enjoying how silly she has become.

Bubble Beard

These pictures just crack me up. Sara created her bubble beard on accident while playing in the bath, but it reminds me so much of what I loved to do when I was little. She loves the bath and is always the happiest baby when she hears the bath water turn on. Lately she has been trying to "talk" with the mama duck that covers the faucet. It's quite entertaining.

Newport Beach

We had such a great time visiting with the Hourigan family after Christmas. We took a stroll along the pier and it was just so beautiful. I forget how much I miss the ocean until I am able to visit it again. It was a windy day, but the sights were just gorgeous!

Sara's Visit with Santa

Sara was fine looking at Santa, but as soon as she was on his lap she was not happy. She stared at him for a second and then started to cry. I have never seen her cry so quickly. I hope she is more excited for Santa next year!

A New Friend for Sara

I thought it was so cute that Sara was looking outside waiting for her daddy to come home. She was banging on the glass and chatting up a storm.....

....but it wasn't her daddy she was talking to, she found a new friend! I didn't even realize she could see her reflection until I started taking pictures.

My Baby Girl

I just love this picture of Sara. She is such a sweet baby. Her little smile always makes my heart melt. I love being a mom!

Happy Halloween!

Sara celebrated her first Halloween as the sweetest little pumpkin. I think we enjoyed the Halloween party more than Sara because we got to eat the candy. Sara's friend, Cassidy, partied with us too.

Later we went to Black Island Farms where we watched pig races, rode slides, and even made our way through the giant corn maze. Sara loved riding down the slides with her daddy. After all the excitement from the holiday, Sara slept for a very long time!
